RIHANA SHENYISA

Rihana Shenyisa is a 10 years old girl living in Kawangware informal settlement together with her parents and her other siblings. Their family has resided in Kawangware slums for more than 3 years. The total number of people in their household is 8 members this includes her parents and her other siblings. Rihana and his brother were born twins sharing almost the same age, month and year with her brother Reagan who is also 10 years. Rihana’s parents are currently unemployed with her mother only struggles with odd and minor jobs like washing clothes for other people in order to earn an income. Her mother remains the only bread winner in this family simply because Angel’s father who is a painter is currently at home. Her father doesn’t have any work to do simply because their job is seasonal. Rihana is currently not going to school simply because her mother cannot afford to pay her school fees at the same time feed the family. She was supposed to be in grade4 but financial challenges have affected his studies. At home food is also considered as a major problem and this sometimes force the family to borrow from their neighbors of sleep hungry. Rihana has never lost any hope for helping her family in future that’s why during her free time she usually visit the community library even though she is not going to school. Her family is also facing problems when it comes to paying their house rent, for now they have omitted almost 2 months without paying and her family feels that soon they might be kicked out of their house. They are currently living in a small house that has not been equipped with proper house furniture’s and other resources. Her parents also don’t have any medical insurance that can cover their family incase of any disease. Rihana’s parents were requesting for any available support.
