JAYVAN NJEYA

Meet Jayvan Njeya a 4 years old boy living in Kawangware informal settlement together with his single mother and her other 4 siblings. Their household consist of 6 members in total including their single mother. Jayvan has been brought up in a humble background. Her single mother is the bread winner of this family but currently she is unemployed. Her mother depends on odd and minor jobs in order for her to make an end meat. The small amount that his mother get is the one that is shared to suite house expenditures. Her mother doesn’t have any medical insurance cover despite her having physical disability. Jayvan has also an elder sister who is a victim of asthma but currently her elder sister is not going to school simply because she lacks finance. On the other side, Jayvan has also reached a school going age but has not gotten any opportunity to join school simply because her mother lacks school fees to pay for him. They live in a small house made of iron sheet, a house that is located near the road. Food has also been a major challenge in their family. They sometimes live on porridge alone putting them to be victims of malnutrition. Sometimes they might even lack something to eat forcing them to sleep hungry. Despite their house being small paying house rent has also been a problem to her mother. They live on old and torn clothes making their friends to ignore them.
