NADIA CHEPCHUMBA

Meet Nadia Chepchumba, a 7 years old girl living in Kawangware Slums together with her mother. Nadia’s family have lived in Kawangware for more than 4 years. Nadia stays with her single mother who is the bread winner in their small family. Her father Neglected their family and went away never to return. This forced her mother to send Nadia’s eldest siblings in their rural home to stay there with their grandmother. Her mother is unemployed, she usually depends on odd jobs like cleaning construction site in order for her to get money that can sustain this family. Nadia’s family stay in a single and house made of iron sheet a house that has not been equipped with an electricity. Paying house rent is one of the challenges which this family is passing through. For now, her mother has not paid the house rent for the last 1 month and she fears that her family might be thrown out of their house anytime. Nadia is not going to school because his mother can’t afford the school fees. She has been away from school since last year January after being send home to go for school fees. Food is a problem in their home and sometimes this family ends up taking only one or two meals per day. Nadias family is requesting any available support from well-wishers
