Elvin Robinson is a 16-year boy living in Kawangware slums. He is staying with her single mother together with her other 3 Siblings. Her mother is HIV positive a condition that has rendered her unemployed making them to lack food and clothes at home. Elvin scored 287 marks in his national examination but currently he is facing financial problems in both home and school. Her mother has struggled with them in primary level which sometimes Elvin could be send home for school fee but still he managed to pass her exams. They are living in a small muddy house which don’t have any furniture’s because they are not in a capacity to purchase any due to extreme poverty. Her mother sometimes relies on casual jobs like washing clothes for her neighbors in order to get money for food. As we speak, they have not paid their house for the past 3 months and this amount has accumulated which will soon force their landlord to kick them out of their house. Her mother at the same time was diagnosed with cancer a condition that sometimes usually puts her mother in pain forcing her not to do any job, when this happens, they sleep hungry. For now, her family was appealing for financial support so that Elvin Robinson can get school fees. At primary level He used to beg so that he can get money to buy school text books and other school resources. The environment which Elvin is living in is not conducive for his studies, this environment is filled with violence which usually makes him to study well. He was usually sent home for school fees but he never gave up in life. Despite all this challenges he still works hard and beg in order to survive even in secondary education. He usually goes to school having not eaten anything but he is still optimistic for his future.
