DAISY KHAVAI

Meet Daisy Khavai an 8 years old girl living in Kawangware informal settlement together with her single mother and her other siblings. They are a total of 5 members in their household this includes her aunt. Currently they are living in her aunt’s house simply because they were kicked out of their house because they failed to pay their house rent. Daisy’s father passed away when daisy was still a child and her mother was the one who was left with the responsibility of taking care of them. Daisy’s mother is currently unemployed and she is only depending on casual jobs like washing clothes for her neighbors in order for her to raise an income. Sometimes she might come back without any money and this usually make her to borrow from her neighbors. Most of the time, Daisy and her family usually have only one meal per day or go to bed hungry because her mother lack money to buy food. Currently, Daisy is not going to school because she was sent home by the school administration never to return without clearing the accumulated balance on the other hand her mother is not in the capacity of paying her school fees. Her mother is usually stressed up because of their situation and also fact that Daisy is not going to school. They reside in a small house made of mud. Daisy also needs an immediate intervention simply because she lacks proper clothes to wear especially during the rainy season. Her mother was requesting for any available support from the well-wishers.
