KEYLOR KHATORO

Keylor Khatoro is a 9 year old child living in Kawangware slums. Before coming to the rescue center, Keyley was living with her grandmother as her guardian. Her single mother is the bread winner of this family of 3. She does a minor job and whenever she gets money out of it, she uses it in buying food and paying for their house rent. During the holidays when school are closed  Keylor  usually return home to stay with her grandmother but her grandmother don’t have enough food and good life to provide for her. Keylor is a grade 3 student at Gatina Prince of Peace Academy, a school which she started when she joined in playgroup. She is a hard working girl having been ranked among the top performing student in their school. The school administration usually sends her home for school fees and she can stay even for a month before going back to school. Food has been a major problem in their house forcing her grandmother to allow her to stay in the rescue center in Kawangware because they fear that by staying with them hunger can strike her. Keylor’s house is also made of mud and it’s located near the river a thing that has put their family in fear.
